This year's competition will award a total of $100,000 in cash prizes and in-kind support from our sponsors.
The Grand Prize winner receives $50,000 (+$10,000 in their respective category), product development consulting, strategic message development, legal services from intellectual property attorneys, and bragging rights forever.
Each category winner will receive $10,000 and legal services from intellectual property attorneys.

Innovations that contribute to better solutions in agriculture, energy, water, or the natural world.

Innovations that advance the physical or mental health of humans.

Innovations in technology ranging from software to the manufacturing of equipment and machinery.

Innovations that do not fall into other categories.

Innovations that advance sports science or athletic performance.
Following a workshop led by OneSixOne Ventures, local high school and college students get a chance to meet the finalist teams, see their live pitch presentations, and cast their votes for the Student Choice Award.

In addition to honoring the legacy of Dr. Cade who led the team that invented Gatorade, this award aims to honor living inventors whose innovations have:
+ Transformed the competitive landscape in its field
+ Broadly changed economies and societies
+ Succeeded commercially and is economically sustainable
The inaugural honoree was Chris Malachowsky of NVIDIA.
